This article is about the boss fight against Mari in the Boss Rush. For the character, see Mari.
A simulated version of Mari is a boss fight exclusive to the console ports of OMORI. She can be fought during One Day Left in the Omori Route if the player completes the Boss Rush and then interacts with Basil to attempt the Boss Rush with him.
Story
Once Basil and Omori beat the simulated friends, Hero is surprised to see Mari in the battle arena. Mari reassures everyone, letting them know it's just a simulated version and she was just curious to see what it would look like if she did fight, despite being incapable. During this fight Mari does not harm Omori or Basil at any point, either opting to heal them or do nothing. Once Mari's Health is depleted to 20%, the screen suddenly glitches and everything changes. Mari is replaced with a hanging body, reminiscent of the final phase of the Something boss fight. The music cuts out, and Omori and Basil are replaced with younger versions of Sunny and real world Basil, both are afraid. Sunny is able to use his real world skills, however, they have no effect and Sunny remains afraid. Basil is unable to move. After four turns Hellmari will jumpscare the player, and the fight will abruptly end.
After this the game returns to the lobby of the Boss Rush, and no one has any memory of what occurred, likely a result of Omori repressing his thoughts further. Basil expresses how he wishes he could join battles with Omori some day before hastily stating that it probably wouldn't be any time soon. He also returns any accessory the player had equipped on him for the Boss Rush, clearly confused as to why he is in possession of these items.
Talking to Mari also results in some unique dialogue where she asks why Omori is looking at her funny, before reassuring him that she will always be there for him.
