The Backyard Area

The Backyard Area, otherwise known as "Forest of Stumps", is a room in Black Space. This room is the fifth room Omori explores.

Overview

This area strongly resembles Sunny's backyard. It is filled with strange, distorted figures and tree stumps, all memories of the past. The figures will all laugh at Omori upon interaction. Omori will repeatedly be called a liar, presumably by Something, as he proceeds through the room.

Something lies in wait at the end of the room. It will curiously confess its love for Sunny upon interaction and begin following him, repeating this declaration every ten seconds. After it begins following him, Omori can follow the red footprints that suddenly appear to the newly spawned key.

Like in the other rooms, collecting the key will spawn red hands that will teleport you back to Black Space.

Entrance To Black Space 2

After grabbing the key, should Omori wait 143 seconds (2 minutes and 23 seconds) without leaving, he will be able to jump into the void if he interacts with the far-right part of the map. For reference, this usually lines up with Something saying "I love you" approximately 15 times.

Once Omori jumps and falls, he will then have to walk up and interact with an object. After they interact with it, they will be teleported to the Water Walkway.

True Route/Sunny Route

If the above method is used during the Sunny route, Omori can access parts of Black Space 2 he is normally not supposed to reach on this route. The most noteworthy change is the Mari is home event, which is usually exclusive to doing this trick and cannot be entered normally during an Omori route, unless you have abandoned a Sunny route on Two Days Left by ignoring Kel and going back to bed.

If Black Space 2 is accessed early through this method, the screen will regularly be filled with static interference. In the event it gets to the point where you cannot see, opening and then closing the menu will clear some of it.

Trivia

The background is a collage of some of Sunny's memories of Mari, including a few photos hinting towards her untimely demise, mixed with strange drawings of Something.
Omori was once supposed to encounter enemies in this area. ^[1]
