It's completion is mandatory to progress the story.
Story
Captain Spaceboy is lovesick and his crew wants to cheer him up. A member of his crew asks Omori if he could find the mixtape.
They then open up a secret entrance to the Junkyard and give the group a key to the Junkyard.
