100 Sunny is the 7th track in the official soundtrack of OMORI. It plays during the hide and seek game in the Forest Playground, and during the memory at the beach in Memory Lane. A slowed version also plays during the hide and seek game with the mirror in Black Space 2.
Musical description
The track features two different eight-bar melodies, which are both repeated twice. The first melody consists of a two-bar phrase that is repeated four times in a descending sequence. It primarily uses conjunct motion, while the second melody has a wider melodic range and uses many large leaps. An eight-bar chord progression is repeated throughout. Sound effects that mimic different noises, including a whistle, a meow, and a bark, are used.
Analysis
The syncopation in the melody and accompaniment gives this track a playful feeling. The two melodies contrast in their mood, with the first being simpler and more child-like, and the second being more expansive, yet still cheerful. There is little harmonic and melodic tension, and the sound effects add to the spirited feeling of the music.
