"You are far away from home."
The Disco Area, internally referred to as the Subconscious Spill, is a room in Black Space. This room is always the second one Omori will visit.
Overview
The Disco Area is, compared to many of Black Space's other rooms, colorful, although still rather melancholic. The room itself has the appearance of being severely glitched or poorly mapped, with tiles cut up and seemingly randomly placed, creating a very chaotic room layout.
Many of the sights in this room appear to remind Omori of home; he will note that he is "far away" from it if he checks some of the objects.
An enormous blue cat named "Loquacious Cat" can be found directly north-east of the entrance point. Omori can ask it questions, ranging from philosophical questions about the meaning of life, to whether or not cereal counts as a soup. Regardless of what it is asked, it will only answer with completely nonsensical sentences that somehow involve sewing materials.
Points of interest include a gaggle of houses, all of which have doors "too small" for Omori to fit through, flashing text in the bottom-right corner that spells out "Disco", a series of Matryoshka dolls designed after Omori, and a large, childishly drawn portrait of Omori. There is also a bed in the bottom left part of the area; something with messy hair appears to be resting on it.
A Bluecloud lingers around the area, asking anyone near it to follow it. It will never lead to anywhere of note, however.
Stranger and a Key await Omori in the bottom right corner of the room. While not strictly necessary, Omori can talk to the Stranger for more information about Black Space; more specifically, about the truth Omori appears to have locked away in it, and how he must find it "for the both of us."
Like most other Black Space rooms, collecting the key will spawn Red Hands that will teleport you back to the Black Space hub.
Quotes
* Stranger: "Lost in this confusion lies the root of everything." * Stranger: "The truth that you've locked away... You must find it no matter what." * Stranger: "You have to... for the both of us."
* Loquacious Cat: "HI IM LOQUACIOUS CAT ASK ME ANYTHING"
Questions:
* "What is the meaning of life?" * "Why are we here?" * "What is the meaning of true love?" * "How can I achieve happiness?" * "Does free will exist?" * "What happens after you die?" * "Is cereal a soup?"
Loquacious Cat's answers, chosen randomly:
* Loquacious Cat: "TWO YARDS OF LEATHER" * Loquacious Cat: "ONE THICK SEWING NEEDLE" * Loquacious Cat: "A TOMATO MADE OF CLOTH" * Loquacious Cat: "A PAIR OF RUSTY SCISSORS" * Loquacious Cat: "A SMALL WOODEN TABLE" * Loquacious Cat: "LOTS AND LOTS OF LITTLE PINS" * Loquacious Cat: "A PAIR OF BIG BEAUTIFUL BUTTONS" * Loquacious Cat: "A BAGFUL OF WHITE COTTON"
Cut Warp
Originally, if you positioned Omori next to the Matryoshka dolls that resemble him, he would've been warped to Cloud Walkway. This has been cut because the developers didn't have enough time to test it extensively. [1]
Trivia
- The music heard here bears a striking resemblance to the introduction of Edvard Grieg's "Peer Gynt - Morning Mood", but distorted.
- The Bluecloud follows a set path. It first goes to the upper right corner of the map, then the lower right corner, then the bottom left corner and at last to the upper left corner, which is where it started at.
