The Raft Area, internally referred to as "Basil's Raft Path," is an optional area in Black Space. This area is always the fourteenth one Omori will visit.

Overview

This area, at first, looks similar to the Looping Forest. After walking up, Omori stumbles upon a tree stump. Basil will quickly emerge from it, noting that he had survived thus far by hiding in the tree stump, and cites his "pretty good" survival skills. Basil begins to follow Omori after this, although he quickly grows uncomfortable with Omori's "cold" attitude and wonders if he did anything to upset him. The titular raft is a very short distance north from the stump.

After boarding the raft, they'll start to go downstream. Basil will nervously chat with Omori about how Black Space "doesn't feel very safe," but is comforted by Omori's presence. Shortly after, Basil will confess that there's something on his mind that's bothering him, but he is interrupted as the duo pass through a tunnel. He is suddenly decapitated inside, and his headless body will remain on the raft as Omori floats back towards the entrance.

After this, the key will appear near the tree stump. Omori can also talk to the stump itself to hear some disquieting advice.

As usual, collecting the key will spawn red hands that will teleport Omori back to the Black Space hub.

After collecting the key, return to the raft and ride it down the river another three times. Omori will be warped to the Weathervane Area.

* Basil: "Omori... Psst... Omori! I'm right here!"
* Basil: "Ta-da! Surprised to see me? I've been hiding out in this stump since I got here."
* Basil: "I'm not the best at defending myself, but I think I'm pretty good at surviving at least."
* Basil: "Anyway... I knew you would come save me, Omori! And I'm sure we will be able to make it out of this place now that you're here."
* Basil: "This place seems a little dangerous, but... I trust you."

* Basil: "H-Hey, Omori... You're acting kind of cold. Did I do something wrong?"

Raft ride:

* Basil: "Omori... I don't like this place at all... It doesn't feel very safe here."
* Basil: "But at least we always have each other. Haha..."
* Basil: "Actually... There's something that's been really bothering me... Would you care to hear me out?"

Upon interacting with the tree stump:

* ???: "Do you want to be asleep or awake?"
* ???: "There are only two options."
* ???: "Well... there always is another... but..."
