Spider Area
The Spider Area, internally called "Spider Forest", is an optional room in Black Space. It is always the ninth room Omori will visit.
Overview
This area appears to be modeled after the Vast Forest, although distorted and with a warped color scheme. As the name implies, there are many spiders and spiderwebs scattered throughout the area.
Basil is located directly north of Omori as soon as he enters. After Omori frees him, he'll thank him and ask him to escort him out of the area. As they continue their exploration, Basil will begin talking about spiders, their uses to gardeners like himself, and their general fear of humans. As they walk, Basil will slowly get covered in more and more spiders, initially expressing joy, until they begin attacking him. Basil begs Omori for help, as he nervously backs off and watches them completely devour him.
Once Basil dies, footprints will appear leading to the key. Of note is that there is a large, deceased baby spider near the point where he is devoured. Like in the other rooms, collecting the key will spawn red hands that will teleport you back to the Black Space hub.

Basil: "Oh, thank goodness you're here, Omori. I thought I was gonna be stuck here forever."
Basil: "Phew... That feels so much better."
Basil: "I can't believe you came here to save me. I missed you so much!"
Basil: "Now that you're here, I can finally go home. Lead the way, Omori!"
Basil: "You know... I think spiders are really misunderstood... They might look kind of scary, but they never attack humans unless they feel threatened."
Basil: "Not to mention they're also one of my biggest helpers when I'm gardening, since they eat a lot of the pests that can hurt my plants. It's all about the balance of nature!"
Basil: "I remember a while back... You told me that a big spider fell on your shoulder just as you were about to dive into the lake at our secret hangout spot!"
Basil: "I know that the spider must have looked so scary to you, but I promise that you probably looked a lot scarier to the spider! No offense, of course... Haha..."
Basil: "There's so many spiders here all of a sudden...I can feel them crawling all over me. Maybe they're just saying hello?"
Basil: "Hi, spiders! It's me, your friend Basil!"
Basil: "Ack! They're biting me!"
Basil: "Oh... I'm probably just scaring them."
Basil: "There there, spiders. It's okay! I'm not here to hurt you!"
Basil: "There's so many of them... I can't get them off!"
Basil: "Ugh..."
Basil: "Omori..."
Basil: "Omori... Please... help... "
