OMORI Wiki:Style guide

This article serves as a style guide for the OMORI Wiki. This purpose of this guide is to have all pages adhere to a consistent standard of style and formatting. If a topic is not covered here or you're in doubt of anything, consult the Wikipedia Manual of Style.

Article titles

Article titles should not match the game's full capitalization format when it comes to nouns. Unless the subject of the article is a noun, the first word should be capitalized and any subsequent words should be lowercase. The ONLY exception for this is the game's title, OMORI, as that is how it's properly formatted.

Article title disambiguation

If the subject of an article has multiple uses, such as Omori, being the title of the game, the name of a character, and the name of an enemy, multiple articles should be created. These articles should be followed with a general, uncapitalized, and usually one-word disambiguation tag in parenthesis, such as "Omori (game)" and "Omori (enemy). The article for the most important subject (in this case, Omori the character) does not need to adhere to this.

Article introductions

The introduction of an article is the section before the first heading. The table of contents, if displayed, appears between the introduction and the first heading. The introduction of an article should be capable of standing out as a to-the-point overview of the article, briefly describing its most important points. It should normally contain no more than four paragraphs and should be written in a clear, accessible style so as to invite a reading of the full article. The article's subject should be mentioned at the earliest natural point in the prose within the first sentence, and should appear in boldface. When referring to the game in an introduction, italics should also be used.

Article sections

Similar to article titles, article sections should not match the game's full capitalization format of nouns. If the subject of a section isn't a noun, such as "profile", "trivia", and "gallery", the first word should be capitalized and any subsequent words should be lowercase.

Linking articles

Links should be used sparsely, but enough to redirect readers to other important topics for more background knowledge. Links should take up less than 10% of any page, and, for the most part, linking to the same term should never be repeated in an article.

Good linking examples

• Omori is a character. (...) Omori wears a black tank top. (...) Omori's personality is generally left up to player interpretation.
• Following this and his ill-fated meeting with Basil in reality, Sunny finds himself within White Space again.
• Omori's Knife is a common weapon.

Bad linking examples
